Robert Hall Honored with a Downtown Excellence Award
We are thrilled to announce that Robert Hall has been honored with a Downtown Excellence Award from the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership, Inc. (DWSP). Since 1995, DWSP has recognized the people, places, and projects that bring vibrancy, creativity, and excellence to downtown Winston-Salem, and we’re proud to join that distinguished list.
Located at 874 N Liberty Street in Winston-Salem’s re-imagined industrial district known as “Industry Hill,” Robert Hall invites guests to celebrate the unconventional amidst a neighborhood that is rich with breweries, performance venues, makerspaces, and more.
From intimate Secret Supper Society dinners to unforgettable weddings and lively corporate gatherings, our mission has always been to create immersive and memorable experiences right here in downtown Winston-Salem.
“I would say chance, luck, timing and a ‘light bulb’ idea that I shared with Lisa McMullen (Short Street Project/BakeHouse) was the catalyst to bringing Robert Hall to life,” said Christy Cox Spencer, one of Robert Hall’s Proprietors. “The truth is, there was not a plan to follow, it just evolved into what it is today and I could not be more proud of the client experience we provide and the fact that people choose to celebrate life’s best moments with us. It’s a real honor and privilege to be a small part of making those memories with people.”
But, let’s be clear. This recognition is not ours alone. It belongs to the incredible, dedicated, creative and hardworking team behind Robert Hall, the event planners we partner with on a weekly basis, operations crews, hospitality staff, vendors, our guests, and all those who make the space hum day-in and day-out. Without your passion, commitment, and your willingness to contribute to something special, this achievement wouldn’t have been possible.
We also want to extend a big thank you to the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership for their ongoing work in building, promoting, and advocating for Winston-Salem—a city with more than 85 restaurants and coffee shops, 84 galleries and shops, and more than 27,000 employees in the central business district.

Our careers have been in corporate events and mobile activations for over 40 years and we never thought we would own an event venue downtown. But here we are!”
