Who Done It? Join Us for a Night of Murder Mystery With the Winston-Salem Police Foundation
On Friday, March 7th, Robert Hall will play host to an evening of sleuthing, suspense, and philanthropy during the Winston-Salem Police Foundation’s Murder & Mystery Fundraiser.
This event promises an immersive experience as guests step into the shoes of detectives to solve a captivating murder mystery while simultaneously supporting a great cause.

The Winston-Salem Police Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), independent organization dedicated to enhancing the capacity of the Winston-Salem Police Department. Working closely with the Chief of Police, the Winston-Salem Police Foundation works to generate the financial resources needed to provide necessary tools, training, technology, equipment, and community outreach initiatives that might otherwise go unfunded.
During next month’s Murder & Mystery Fundraiser, talented actors from Mystery Men Productions will bring fictional characters to life alongside real Winston-Salem Police Department detectives. As you mingle with fellow guests, you’ll gather clues, interrogate suspects, and piece together the puzzle to identify the culprit.
“Murder mysteries are growing in popularity and we thought what better way to raise awareness then let residents in our community come work alongside detectives to solve a case in a fun, inviting atmosphere,” said Scott Somerville, President of the Winston-Salem Police Foundation. “This event is aimed at not only raising awareness, but allowing our community to step into the shoes of detectives and gain an understanding of their day-to-day job in the community.”
As the night’s plot unfolds, guests will be treated to a dangerously delectable spread of heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages (including alcoholic options), all of which are included in the ticket price. By attending this fundraiser, you’re not only enjoying a thrilling evening but also contributing to the safety and wellbeing of our community. All of the proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the Winston-Salem Police Foundation’s efforts in recruitment and retention initiatives for the Winston-Salem Police Department.
“The Winston-Salem Police Department is currently short 116 officers, which is around 25% of the total needed to be fully staffed,” said Scott. “This ongoing shortage has been a culmination of things stemming from five years ago. However, for the first time in many years, WSPD is seeing an influx of applicants, leading to the first class of 28 recruits since before 2020. We, as a police foundation, want to keep the momentum going by funding the unfunded needs that are a necessity to keep applications coming in and keep current officer morale high.”
