Robert Hall Secret Supper Society’s “Pride & Prejudinner”—The Performance

Robert Hall Secret Supper Society’s “Pride & Prejudinner”—The Performance

We are excited to announce the Secret Supper Society’s first event of the year—the “Pride and Prejudinner.”

On Friday, March 22nd, in true Jane Austen fashion, Society members and their guests will enjoy a four-course seated dinner by Chef Kathleen Watson, bar service, and vignettes of the theatrical adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice” created by Tara Raczenski of The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem.

In anticipation of next month’s event, we sat down with Tara to talk about her adaptation of the Regency era classic and the LTWS.

The Robert Hall Team: Tara, your adaptation of Jane Austen’s acclaimed novel is titled “Pride & Prejudice: A New Musical Comedy.” What can Society members expect from the performance at next month’s dinner?

Tara Raczenski: “Pride & Prejudice: A New Musical Comedy” is a lighthearted, imaginative adaptation with music that is light, bright, and sparkling—kind of like a Regency cocktail party.  Robert Hall Secret Supper Society Members will be treated to a series of vignettes featuring songs and scenes from the musical and even have the opportunity to join in the fun, by sharing juicy bits of gossip, as the cast brings Jane Austen’s beloved classic to life.

In keeping with a true Regency cocktail party, we’re encouraging (but not requiring) attendees of our “Pride & Prejudinner” to wear 19th century attire. I understand that The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem has quite the costume department and that Society members will actually have the opportunity to rent costumes from you all–can you expand on this?

The Little Theatre of Winston Salem has an amazing costume department with over 10,000 pieces to choose from. We are one of the few rental facilities in the immediate area and serve individuals, schools, churches, and theatre organizations from all over the Triad and beyond.  We have a good selection of Regency era attire for ladies and gentlemen in a variety of sizes at a special price for Secret Supper Society members.
