Robert Hall is Expanding: Introducing The Nash Event Center
Robert Hall is embarking on an exciting new chapter! We’re thrilled to share that our second location, The Nash, is coming soon!
Located at 840 N. Liberty St. in downtown Winston-Salem, The Nash is steps away from Robert Hall and will be giving new life to the old Win Cup Museum building.
“We had to close the Win Cup Museum, which we owned and operated since May of 2005, in December of 2023,” said Christy Cox Spencer, Robert Hall’s Proprietor. “This was especially hard for my husband Will who, for nearly two decades, exerted a lot of energy into preserving the history of NASCAR’s Cup Series and its roots in Winston-Salem. But, as the building sat empty, we started flirting with the idea of evolving it into something new, while paying homage to its storied automobile history.”
After noticing that Winston-Salem was lacking larger-capacity private event venues, Christy and Will settled on expanding Robert Hall’s offering and transforming the museum into The Nash Event Center.
“One thing that we noticed in Winston-Salem is that there are very few event spaces available that can seat 250 people comfortably,” said Christy. “We’ve had requests at Robert Hall for larger events, and while we’ve made it work, the demand is only growing. Transforming the former museum into a dedicated event space felt like the perfect solution.”
Why “The Nash?”
The Nash will be more than just a private event venue—it will be a celebration of history, craftsmanship, and community. Nestled in a building with roots stretching back to the late 1940s, this space began as a Nash Motors dealership before becoming home to Bob Neill Pontiac, a beloved local landmark for car enthusiasts, and most recently the Win Cup Museum.
Now, the Spencers are evolving the space into a one-of-a-kind event venue that seamlessly blends its rich automotive past with modern elegance. With the same elevated standards of style and service you’ve come to expect from Robert Hall, The Nash will offer a dynamic setting perfect for private events, all within a museum-inspired atmosphere.
“We were definitely inspired by the Cadillac Service Garage in Greensboro,” said Christy. “Our primary goal with The Nash is to have a private event space that is themed with these really unique cars from the Nash era—so the late 1940s to the late 1950s. We will not be open to the general public for tours, but we do hope to eventually incorporate car shows and movie nights that community members will be invited to.”
A Brief History of Nash Motors
Founded in 1916 by former GM president Charles W. Nash, Nash Motors was built on a vision of quality and innovation. From the iconic Rambler to the rugged Jeffery Quad truck, Nash made its mark with vehicles that shaped industries and served on the frontlines during World War I.
Known for pioneering features like overhead valve engines, the Weather Eye ventilation system, and even wind tunnel testing, Nash set the standard for safety, comfort, and performance. With a slogan like “Given the customer more than he has paid for,” it’s no wonder Nash cars were sold before they even left the factory floor. We’re honored to carry on that legacy by transforming this historic space into a hub for celebrations and memories.
Looking Forward to Fall 2025
While there is no official opening date just yet, it is our hope that The Nash will be open for reservations in the Fall of 2025.
“There are still a lot of things we need to do to get the space event-ready,” said Christy. “But, we have some exciting things in the works for early February.”
NASCAR recently announced that the NASCAR Clash race will be held at Bowman Gray Stadium on Sunday, February 2nd. Throughout the weekend of this high-profile race, we’ll be opening The Nash to visitors for an exclusive sneak peek at the space, including a showcase of some of the stunning cars that will be featured in the venue.
